After graduating from Berrien Springs High School, Cori obtained a job at her local high school in Benton Harbor, Michigan. It changed her. She encountered so many intelligent, passionate, and resilient youth. However, she quickly noticed despite their potential and raw authenticity, her students were not being offered the proper tools to be successful and thrive mentally. This sparked something in her. She realized that just like many of the youth she encountered, there are so many minorities that don’t have access to resources that will help them take on life’s challenges, in a healthy and effective way. This is why Grounded Incorporation was birthed.

Kaneta has dedicated the last 20+ years of her life creating safe spaces for youth and their families to share their experiences without judgement. Seeing her mentees refocus and find purpose through biblical teachings is what drives her to continue to do this work.
